October News from the Dads’ Club
The period from October 15th to November 15th is the busiest time of the Dads’ Club all year. We have four major activities occurring during that time:
- Father/Son Communion Breakfast ~ October 25th – for more information see the Brophy Dads’ Club website, or contact Don Isaacson at (602) 272-2200.
- Dads’ Club Blanket Drive ~ October 30, 31 and November 1. The trailer will be at Brophy each of those mornings before school for donations of blankets, sweaters, gloves and socks.
- Brophy Dads’ Club Golf Tournament ~ November 5th at Grayhawk. Contact Bill Murney at bmurney@mkhotels.com or (602) 840-9034.
- Brophy Dads’ Club Manresa Work Weekend ~ November 14, 15 & 16. Contact Jim Leavitt at jqleavitt@yahoo.com or (480) 443-8437.
- Brophy Paint-a-Thon ~ November 15th, contact Chuck Westerfield at westerca@wellsfargo.com or (602) 631-9709.
There are plenty of opportunities to participate in Brophy Dads’ Club activities. The Manresa Work weekend and the Paint-a-Thon provide great opportunity to work with your son to provide social service to the community and for Brophy.
Presentation of Dads’ Club Check for Sound System
At the October 14th Dads’ Club meeting, Treasurer Eamonn Ahearne presented Brophy with a check in the amount of $53,394.16 for the final Dads’ Club payment for the new sound system in the gym and the portable sound system for Brophy.
This contribution follows a long line of contributions by the Dads’ Club over the years to buy improvements for the Brophy community. The Dads’ Club is very pleased to be able to upgrade the sound system in the gym, where all members of the Brophy community will benefit from the improvement.
The next meeting of the Dads’ Club is set for Wednesday, November 19th at the Jesuit Garden. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will focus on the wrap-up of fall sports and a preview of the winter sports at Brophy. As usual, the meeting will begin with hospitality food and beverages at 5:30 p.m., followed by a short business meeting. We hope to see you there.
You do not have to be a member of the Brophy Dads’ Club in order to participate in Dads’ Club activities. We encourage all dads to attend these activities as time permits.
Respectfully,
Don Isaacson
President
